Being an artist is a difficult job sometimes. The hours can be long. The pay can be low.
People expect the world from you and they want it yesterday. And when you accomplish the impossible there are no guarantees that you’ll get credit for it or even receive a simple “thank you”. To top it off, all your hard work could get completely cut from the final project. There are going to be times when you’ll be tempted to call it quits and go settle for what your supposed friends call a “real job”.
Don’t quit. Hang in there. Perservere. Press on.
Filmmaking is a powerful storytelling medium. Good films can invigorate and lift us up when we are feeling low.
So might I suggest then that when you are feeling like packing it all in, sit down and watch one of these inspiraing films, many of which are based on true stories of real people who overcame the problems they faced and ultimately succeeded. These are tales of individuals who rose above their troubles or self doubts and became more thank anyone thought they could or more than they themselves ever believed they could become.
Also include here is a list of movies about this business we call “show biz”. Some are fanciful and some are gritty. All of them contain a certain amount of
truth
Hopefully these films will enlighten you or inspire you to keep on going when the going gets tough.
